Our Corporation, R.Gross Dairy, has been operating for over 50 years. In the late ‘60s, R. Gross carried the name of its founder and occupied over half a block at 1372 Broadway. It was a landmark which many of our older customers remember visiting with their fathers and grandfathers.
In 1985 we took over R.Gross, and changed the concept from a kosher dairy establishment to a full Mediterranean Glatt Kosher restaurant under the name of Chez Lanu, Mr. Broadway. Soon after, we added a delicatessen section which in time proved to be a big success.
In 1995, following extensive renovations, we commissioned a very accomplished Chinese chef to launch our newest addition to the restaurant. The chef, who is still with us, has been very successful in introducing many of the fine Chinese dishes that we serve daily. Today, we house 3 distinguished chefs and their unique style and flavor has proven to be extremely popular with many of our clientele.
Our latest addition to the Restaurant came in 2000, when we were the first to offer a full Sushi menu at a midtown kosher establishment. Today our sushi bar serves hundreds of happy customers on a daily basis, and it has become one of the busiest operations in our diverse establishment.
As we grew, we realized that offering such an exciting variety of great food required additional space to host a growing customer base. In 2003 we took out a lease on an adjoining space and built a second beautifully decorated dining room where we entertain guests on a daily basis and house many of our private parties, including Seven Brachot, Bar Mitzvahs, birthdays, private office gatherings and more.
Throughout the years, we have always believed in using the freshest ingredients and relying on home-cooking, rather than a 'frozen out of the box' routine. In our 5000 sq foot, split level kitchen, our people are working from the very early hours of the morning preparing everything from scratch - from our famous Shawarma, to the daily variety of soups, the fresh salads and much more. All this is done under the personal supervision of our head chef, who has been with us for over 15 years.
We take great pride in preparing your food fresh when ordered and believe that to be one of the main reasons for our success. We strive to do the very best in every dish that we serve and are always there to listen to our customers, and ensure that every item that we offer carries not only our kashrut seal, but Mr. Broadway Quality stamp as well.
For over 25 years in business, we wish you all the best and consider it a 'Mitzva' to serve you and your family.
Thank you, The Owners |
